5 Stars Great Honeymoon Companion
My wife and I picked up the Nuvi 255w right before we headed off for a honeymoon trip to to the northeast. We started in Boston and drove up the coast to Bar Harbor. Without the unit I would not have spotted the green patch representing a park in Prospect and turned off to find Ft. Knox which my wife and I had a great time exploring.
I bought this unit after playing with my brother-in-laws Nuvi 650 and reading reviews on Amazon and in Consumer Reports. If you are trying to decide between a 4:3 and a widescreen Nuvi, go for the widescreen… it makes reading the names of cross-roads a pleasure.
5 Stars Sorry I waited so long to buy the Garmin!
The Garmin was been great! Several times I was in disagreement of the route it suggested, knowing the area I was traveling very well…or so I thought! Following the route anyway, the Garmin took me through a much shorter and direct route on several occassions. One even saved 1/2 the time.

I bought this gps to up grade from the one that I had. I wanted a bigger screen and tex to speech. After reading many reviews,I was worried about the tex to speech. I Found the t/s on this unit to be great.The volume is very good set at 50% and very clear. I am pleased with all the other features and I think I made a good decision buying this gps.

I JUST PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT AND MADE A TRIP FROM NH TO NEW JERSEY AND THEN TO SOUTHWEST FLORIDA. THE GPS WORKED PERFECTLY AND I HAD NO NEED TO USE MY OLD DIRECTIONS OR MAPS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
